Reading: Project Management Approaches

Fox and Patterson strongly favor the Agile approach to project management in software development and rather strongly pit Agile in opposition to the Plan and Document approaches.  A more moderate comparison of these two major categories is found in this PMI (Project Management Institute) conference paper by Bob  Tarne:  Tarne, B. (2007). Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater: how to combine and use both agile and traditional project management approaches. Paper presented at PMI® Global Congress 2007—North America, Atlanta, GA. Newtown Square, PA: Project Management Institute.
